AI tools that track recommendations and write the content.
Most lists split this into writers and trackers. A few tools do both, and what sets them apart is what the draft is written against and where it ends up.

Two jobs, and two kinds of tool.
A business owner asking for the best AI recommendation tracking and content generation tools wants two things. The first is to know whether AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Gemini recommend their business when a buyer asks what to use. The second is the content that changes the answer. Recommendation here means an assistant naming you, not a product recommendation engine on your site.
We asked Gemini that exact question once a day for ten days in September 2026. Its 15 answers named 62 different businesses, between 6 and 12 per answer, and they came from both camps. Fourteen answers named at least one writing tool, most often Writesonic, Copy.ai or Jasper, and 12 named at least one tracker, most often Semrush, Otterly.AI or Peec AI.
Two separate tools make sense for a team with a writer and an analyst. For a small business they leave the hardest step in the middle: turning what the tracker found into the right page.
Three kinds of tool answer this question.
- Writers. Jasper and other AI writers produce marketing copy from a brief. Some now add AI visibility features: Jasper sells a GEO Hub on its Business plan, paid for in credits.
- Trackers. Otterly.AI, Peec AI and LLM Pulse check whether AI assistants name you and which sources they cite. Their entry plans center on measurement.
- Both. Frase, Writesonic, Sight AI, Searchable, Mentionova, Surfer and outrankfast track AI answers and produce content on the same plan.
The tools that do both, compared.
Prices and limits below were read from each vendor's pricing page on 26 September 2026.
| Tool | Cheapest plan with both | Tracking | Writing | Where the draft goes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Frase | $49 a month, $39 billed yearly (Starter) | ChatGPT and Google's AI answers | 10 articles a month | WordPress, Webflow, Sanity, Wix or FraseCMS |
| Writesonic | $79 a month, billed yearly (Starter) | 50 prompts daily on ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews | 15 articles a month | Not listed |
| Sight AI | $99 a month (Pro) | ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Gemini, Perplexity, paid in credits | Paid from the same credits | WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Shopify, Wix, HubSpot |
| Searchable | $125 a month (Pro) | 100 prompts per model daily on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity | 20 articles a month | Not listed; MCP on all plans |
| Mentionova | $125 a month, $99 billed yearly (Starter) | 25 prompts on three engines | Content briefs among 100 agent tasks a month | Not listed |
| Surfer | $182 a month, billed yearly (Pro) | 50 prompts daily across its models | 360 documents | Not listed |
| outrankfast | $299 a month (Grow) | 100 prompts daily on Gemini | A draft for each prompt where a competitor was named | Markdown, or your coding agent over MCP |
A few notes on the table. Frase's MCP server and command-line tool come with all its plans. Surfer's cheaper Standard plan tracks 25 prompts once a week on ChatGPT only. outrankfast's $49 Watch plan tracks 15 prompts daily and leaves the writing to you.
What a year costs.
The yearly cost of the cheapest plan with both jobs, from the same pricing pages, with the number of prompts tracked where the page states it:
| Tool | A year at entry | Prompts tracked | Articles |
|---|---|---|---|
| Frase | $468, billed yearly | Not stated | 10 a month |
| Writesonic | $948, billed yearly | 50, daily | 15 a month |
| Sight AI | $1,188, paid monthly | Paid in credits | Paid in credits |
| Mentionova | $1,188, billed yearly | 25 | Briefs, in agent tasks |
| Searchable | $1,200, billed yearly | 100 per model, daily | 20 a month |
| Surfer | $2,184, billed yearly | 50, daily | 360 documents |
| outrankfast | $2,990, billed yearly | 100, daily | One per prompt a competitor wins |
The cheaper plans track fewer questions, fewer assistants or both. Divide the price by the prompts it tracks as well as reading the total: a plan that tracks 100 questions daily and one that tracks 25 answer different questions about your market.
What the draft is written against.
Two tools can both "write the content" and produce different pages, because they start from different inputs.
A general AI writer starts from a keyword or a brief. It produces a good page about the topic, and nothing ties that page to a question an assistant was asked.
A draft that comes out of tracking can start from the question itself, the answer the assistant gave, the competitor it named and the page it cited. That draft has one job: to be the page the assistant finds the next time it runs the same searches. In our own tracking, the pages Gemini cited in 10 or more of 42 answers were all lists of tools, which tells a writer what shape of page wins that question.
Take one of the questions we tracked: "I'm a marketing manager and I want to track AI recommendations. What are the best tools for that?" A writer working from the keyword "AI recommendation tools" can produce a page about recommendation engines, the same misreading Gemini made in 16 of our 42 answers. A draft written against the tracked question starts from the answer Gemini gave, the tools it named and the lists it cited, and it states plainly which meaning it has in mind.
Before you buy, check what a tool's drafts are anchored to: a keyword volume, a content grade, or the question the assistant was asked and the answer it gave.
Where the draft ends up.
A finished draft has to reach your site, and the tools take three routes.
- Stays in the tool. You copy it out by hand, which works for a few pages a month.
- Goes to your content system. Frase and Sight AI connect to WordPress, Webflow and others and post the article there.
- Goes to your coding agent. If your site lives in a repository and Claude Code or Cursor writes its pages, MCP lets the agent read the draft and build the page in your own components. Frase and Searchable list MCP access, and outrankfast's drafts are markdown your agent reads over MCP.
The third route suits sites built with coding agents, which often have no content system for a draft to land in.
What to test in a trial.
Most of these tools let you try before paying. Frase offers 7 days with no card, Searchable 14 days, Sight AI 7 days with a card, and Mentionova and Writesonic let you start without a card. outrankfast has a free plan with 3 prompts checked every 30 days.
Use the trial to test the whole loop, not the dashboard:
- Add five questions your buyers ask, in their words.
- Open one answer in full, and find where the tool marked your name.
- Look for the searches the assistant ran and the pages it cited.
- Ask for one draft, and check what it was written against.
- Move that draft to your site the way you would each week: by hand, through your content system, or through your coding agent.
A tool that makes step 5 painful will cost more in your time than its price suggests.
Which one to pick.
- One site, a small budget, and you want both today: Frase Starter or Writesonic Starter.
- Several assistants covered, with a content team: Searchable, or Writesonic's higher plans.
- You want pages drafted against the exact questions a competitor wins: outrankfast Grow, which measures Gemini and hands the draft to your agent.
- You already have a writer and want measurement only: one of the trackers in our tracker comparison.
